Communicative Dimension of Quranic Translations: A Case Study

This book proceeds from a blending of the expertise in linguistics and Qur’anic translations. The Qur’anic translations provided the subject matter of the present study whereas the linguistic models tried to demonstrate the linguistic realities of the Qur’anic translations by experimental studies. The book tries to analyse linguistically various translations of the Holy Qur’an in English, Bangla, Urdu and Kashmiri, with special reference to Surah Fatiha, a Surah of seven verses, which is commonly regarded as the conspectus of the Holy Qur’an and forms the opening of the Holy Book.
